24-Hour Read-A-Thon!
Posted by: Lizzie
Look what I signed up for! Now, with kids, it’s not realistic to expect to read by myself for however long I choose to read. So I’m going to turn this into a family event!
For the whole of this Read-A-Thon, the television and video game consoles will be OFF, which will allow us to all sit around and pillage our bookshelves. I anticipate reading lots of children’s books since two out of the three boys in our house can’t read on their own. Corey will read some by himself. It’ll give him some hours to add to his Summer Reading Program sheet for the library.
I don’t really blog about books because I’m just not cut out for writing about what I read. Living with an English major-soon-to-be-teacher-or-professor doesn’t help, either. I’m notorious for reading fluff when I just can’t find anything else to read. My TBR list is very short. So sometimes, when I finish a book, I wander around the house like a lost puppy because there is ‘NOTHING TO READ!’ Yet we have four bookshelves for our books and two in the boys’ room, all of which are stuffed to the brim.
With all of that said, I will point you in the direction of my friend Dewey’s blog where she has lots more details about her Read-A-Thon, as well as wonderful book reviews, challenges, and giveaways!
