A little montage
Posted by: LizzieTimothy’s neurologist praised me for having videos of Timothy’s spells. It’s helpful to him because it really is hard to describe in words what the little twitches and jerks look like. The crawling with his head down is not typical, but he does fall at least once a day. The sideways jerk sometimes throws him to the ground as well. But it all started with a little shiver…

I take it he has not been diagnosed yet? My friend’s son has a seizure disorder that causes him to just drop to the ground. It happens in a split-second and there are no indicators that it’s going to happen. I saw it happen twice at my house. It’s over quickly and he’s left tired and disoriented. He’s on different medications to try and control it and he wears a helmet when they’re out. There’s so much about the human brain that isn’t understood. I hope for your son and my friend’s son that a diagnosis and cure can be found.

Unfortunately, no, we don’t have a firm diagnosis yet. Or at least nothing treatable. So far he hasn’t had many problems with the drop attacks and we’re mainly doing some watchful waiting to see if they either go away or get worse. We’ll have regular checkups with the neurologist as we continue this journey. The brain is indeed a mystery.
