Yep.  This is the easiest Small Talk Six ever.  I’ll try to rank my favorites in order from least to most.  Here we go!

  1. Strawberry
  2. Mint Chocolate Chip
  3. Vanilla Bean with Hershey’s Syrup
  4. French Silk
  5. Cookie Dough
  6. Oreo Ice Cream of any brand.  I’m talking store-bought, Dairy Queen blizzard, whatever. Just throw some Oreos in there and I’m going to gobble it up.

Small Talk Six: Rock You Like a Hurricane

Today’s topic is “6 things you think would be great about being a rockstar (or just famous in general).” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .

I have severe social anxiety, so it’s hard for me to think about ever being famous. Cause you would be surrounded by people. Constantly. I would have to take many xanaxes or something. But these things might be great:

  1. Eating what I want to without having to cook! I would so hire a personal chef. Who wouldn’t? And then I could eat delicious organic vegan meals without having to worry about who’s going to cook them.
  2. I would also hire a personal assistant. That way, I don’t have to think about my schedule. I am notorious for double-booking on my calendar and having to rearrange things cause of my own stupidity. If I had someone to plan stuff FOR me, I’d be set.
  3. Housekeeping? If I was famous, I hope I would have enough money to hire someone to clean my house. Holy crap, that would be awesome.
  4. Speaking of houses, I would get rid of this one and build a better one.
  5. (Somehow this turned into a money post…) I think it would be great to have a trampoline room in my house.
  6. I want to wear sunglasses indoors. I think you can only wear them indoors if you’re famous. Otherwise, you look like a douche.

Small Talk Six: Magical Sunglasses

Posted by: Lizzie

Today’s topic is “if you had magical sunglasses, name 6 things you would like to see with them.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .

  1. I’d like to see myself if we had waited to have children.  Corey and Aiden came along when I was still in college, which meant it took me 8 years to finish my Bachelor of Music.  We were making plans to move up to Bloomington or New Haven, CT for grad school when Simon surprised us.  I’m not regretting anything.  Just curious.
  2. Are there faeries?  I like to believe there are, so I want to see some!  The other day, Timothy was waking from his nap in the other room and I heard him laughing.  I wish I could have seen what was so funny, but for all I could see, he was looking at a blank wall.
  3. My magical sunglasses would be so nifty if they could show me my dreams.  Don’t you hate it when you can’t remember them?
  4. I want to see like a cat.  Wouldn’t that be cool?  Or at least see from my cats’ point of view.  Cause sometimes they look at me like I’m the strange one (though judging from everyone’s reactions to my mommy confession this week, my cats might be right).
  5. I also want to see what it would be like if all the colors in the world were reversed.  Like this:
  6. Finally, I would like to see what’s going on in my three-year-old’s mind when he’s doing something he knows he isn’t supposed to do.  I went into the kitchen once and saw that he had pushed a stool over to the kitchen counter and taken all the knives out of the butcher’s block.  My mind flashed back to one of the first episodes of “Rescue 911″ where the toddler got stabbed in the stomach with a huge knife when his brother came running around the corner with it.  Yeesh.  Needless to say, all dangerous objects are in the highest cabinets now.

Small Talk Six: My Baby Daddy

Posted by: Lizzie

Today’s topic is “6 things you think the father of your children deserve to have.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .

The father of my children deserves a lot.  And not just a swift kick in the pants.

  1. He deserves a new job.  For years, he has worked some crap jobs, sometimes three at a time.  When I finally graduated college, it was his turn to finish his degree.  So he did and is currently finishing up his teacher certification.  Unfortunately, pickin’s are slim around here for teaching jobs.  I’ve lost count of all the interviews he’s had.  He deserves to have a steady job with good pay, decent vacation time, and it would be nice if he really liked it, too.
  2. A massage!  I’ve been able to get massages thanks to some generous family members, but he has never been to a professional masseuse.  I’m not strong enough and my carpal tunnel bothers me too much to give him a decent massage myself.
  3. A nap.  I always take a nap on Sundays.  It’s become a tradition ever since I was pregnant with Simon.  I hate to give it up for one day, but I think he deserves it.
  4. A piece of electronic equipment that doesn’t break.  In the past couple years, he has gone through three flash drives, a DVD/VCR combo (the DVD part works fine but the VCR part broke), a stereo (it is very temperamental but still works…when it wants to), two MP3 players, and if you count appliances, a dryer and a vacuum.
  5. A vacation.  Don’t we all!  I always go on choir trips and retreats, but he has never been away from all of us for any amount of time.  For Father’s Day this year, I gave him a weekend for himself.  He’s going up to the mountains with his nerd club friends to hike, drink beers, and talk about philosophy.
  6. A day without yelling.  For just one day, the kids need to stop fighting and doing stupid crap.  Jamie deserves to laugh and have fun with the kids, not play referee and warden.

5. I’m also really proud of this dress I knit:
6.  I make pretty cool humans, too:
