Things I’m loving

  • Muttaqin newborn fitteds.  I did a trade for a couple of these and they are fantastic.  There are a few other diapers out there similar to Mutts and we like them, too.
  • Earth’s Best Lavender Everyday Lotion.  It smells so good!
  • Gilligan & O’Malley Nursing Tanks.  I got them at Target and like them a million times better than the Glamourmom tank I spent way too much money on.
  • Bravado Nursing Bra.  Found one on ebay and it is the best nursing bra I have ever owned.

Diaper Hunt

(diapers on line by maya rain)
I’m a little distracted these days.  As the days creep by, I realize how close we are to having this new tush to wrap up in dipes.  Thus, I’ve begun my quest for more cloth diapers!  We have a HUGE stash of tiny preemie-sized prefolds for the–what–three weeks he or she will probably fit into them?  After that, though, we have absolutely ZERO infant-sized prefolds.  Our stash of premiums is pretty much a pile of rags since it’s basically all we used for Simon after he grew out of his Fuzzi Bunz and we were too broke to get anything else.
So, I’ve been perusing some of my old cloth diaper forums and feeling like I’ve missed out on so much!  It’s hard to believe it’s been three years since I’ve had to buy diapers.
I do have an open ISO thread out there:  I could go for a couple dozen 4x8x4 infant prefolds and would be more than happy to knit for them.
Or!  If there are any WAHMs out there who would like me to review some of their dipes, I am happy to oblige.

BE JEALOUS

Have I mentioned that I have fabulous friends?  If I haven’t, then I shall surely sing their praises now.  One of them noticed on my blog that I have been in the market for a new diaper bag.  Last night after choir rehearsal, they presented me with this glorious specimen of diaper bag gloriousness:

No more diaper bag giveaways for me!!  I’m now the proud owner of this beautiful Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy Backpack and I could NOT be happier.  I wanted to bring it to bed with me last night and snuggle it, but I don’t think Jamie would’ve appreciated that.  Here is what I adore about this bag:

  • Detachable dirty diaper pouch  (a must for cloth diapers!!)
  • Built-in changing station with detachable changing pad (note: DETACHABLE=WASHABLE)
  • Handy key clip (I am constantly losing my keys in the bottom of my purse & old diaper bag)
  • Backpack and shoulder straps

The last feature is especially wonderful since I will need to have both of my hands completely free to wrangle all four of my kids when we are out shopping.  Not that it will keep the kids from running in and out of the clothing racks at Goodwill or tearing down the aisles after their favorite cereals at the grocery store, but it certainly might help in parking lots when I need both hands to grab the inevitable runaway shopping cart or toddler.

I want to cry whenever I look at my new bag because it is just SO PRETTY.

I love you Beth & Mary Ann!!
