Honey Kix Review & Giveaway
Posted by: LizzieIf it wasn’t for the WIC program, we would probably go broke buying cereal for our children. They could eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks! That’s why I signed up to try out some of the new Honey Kix from My Blog Spark. (If you haven’t noticed, I love trying new things!)
So they sent me a really neat gift pack with a coupon for a box of Honey Kix, a container to store the cereal in, a travel kit to take the cereal on the go, a honey jar, and a bowl. I was all, “Hey cool!” and my husband was like, “Huh?” He didn’t understand why anyone would want to take cereal AND milk with them when they are away from home. I know I wouldn’t. But I’m sure someone out there would find it useful, right?

On the way home from picking up the package, I was taking everything out to examine everything to see how to take apart the travel thing and put it back together. But I broke the spoon. DOH! I was trying to force it back into its little home in the top of the travel container and I ended up pushing on it too hard. Oh well.
I’ve always wanted to have one of those containers to store cereal in. My grandmother has tons in her cabinets, and I remember being amazed by them as a child, looking up at those containers lined up in a row. So I was a little giddy when I got that out. For the record, the honey jar is plastic. I was a little disappointed about that.
As for the cereal, I didn’t get to try any! But my kids gobbled it up. When I asked them if they liked it, there was a resounding, “YES!”
Of course, the mom in me approves nutritional details: Honey Kix is a good source of fiber, calcium and vitamin D, contains 16 grams of whole grain per serving (at least 48 grams recommended daily) and has no artificial flavors or preservatives. You can see a complete list of ingredients and nutrition info here.

Our breakfasts vary from day to day, but we never go without it! We might have cereal, or eggs and toast, or homemade muffins, or french toast. It depends on what I have and how much time I feel like spending. Breakfast is treated as very important!
We all LOVE Kix and Honey Kix!!

We generally have either cereal with milk or we have toast and honey. Morning time is always sort of a rush and I do have a tiny bit of a picky eater so those two things work best.

Cereal and milk is our normal breakfast. However, I have been known to make muffins the night before and have those with some fruit.

Busy & on the go, my daughter usually wants a Hot Pocket or a bowl of cereal. With a million types of cereal out there, this sounds like a good one!

Captain Crunch or Lucky Charms!

I bet this cereal is good. Rowan and Sage both like Kix and Honey Grahams. This, like, combines them!
For breakfast we try to eat protein-filled breakfasts like eggs and bacon, but cereal is definitely much quicker and easier!
