I can’t believe it’s Friday. Where has this week gone? I haven’t even caught up on the housework I wanted to do this week. Fortunately, we only have about 80 to go on the 500 Things Project. It’s getting down to little things: three or four old t-shirts, old magazines hiding under the couch, and giving away some of the plants that are cluttering up the windowsills. I bet I can finish the project by snipping and rooting all the baby spider plants to give away. I would just need to devote an afternoon to putting them all in plastic cups. I’m sure they’d take over my kitchen table for a while.

Tonight is craft night with my sister. Jamie doesn’t want me to leave Simon with him while I’m gone because he’s so fussy at night and he says it’ll just be easier that way. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get Simon to sleep soon after I get to the church so I can actually do some stuff. I still haven’t decided what I want to bring. I may just gather up the cross-stitching I have left and see if I can’t finally finish it there. I would scrapbook, but I’m kind of stuck for ideas right now. Plus I have a couple unfinished pages that I’m not sure how to finish. I’m the queen of unfinished crafts!! I mean, I still haven’t finished my tier skirt. I did work on it yesterday, but doing the French seams on all the tiers is slowing me down.

I forgot how destructive age 3 can be. It’s pretty close to age one where you can’t leave anything on the coffee table without it being knocked onto the floor at least ten times a day. We hid the coffee table for a while during Aiden’s super-dooper climbing phase. He still climbs, yes, but it’s a lot more manageable than it was about a year or so ago. Though yesterday he was trying to jump from the coffee table to the couch….and people ask why he has a scar near his eye. Are you kidding? The boy is a daredevil. He’s already jumping off the diving board at the pool when it took a bribe to get Corey to do it.

The dishes are finally not taking over the kitchen. The laundry piles are on the wane. The only things driving me absolutely mad are the piles of papers that are strategically placed throughout the house. I have no idea what to do with the stuff that doesn’t have a “home.” Obviously, I haven’t been reading that organization book yet. When do I really have time? Once the baby’s asleep in the Moby I’m usually sitting here thinking about what I can do or vacuuming or doing dishes or wasting time at the computer. I’m procrastinating: the boys’ room needs another overhaul. I need to get some plastic bins for some of the toys. It’ll make it easier for Corey to clean up if he knows EXACTLY where to put things.

Shopping list:

small plastic bins
mattress encasing
abrasive shower cleaner
