Whack

I haven’t had much time to sit down and write lately.

Sunday was spent inside while the boys helped Jamie put up the fence out back. Jamie’s mom & brother also helped. After it was done, the kitty’s owner came to pick him up, but then we couldn’t find the kitty! So we searched and searched, but he couldn’t be found. Later on that evening, he made an appearance and was quickly crated until the owner could come back Monday.

Jamie’s unsure whether or not he suffered a concussion Sunday. He whacked himself on top of his head with the pole pounder. Late into the evening, he woke up and had to throw up. He continuted to feel sick throughout the rest of the day, but he thought it was because he caught the stomach bug that the kids he works with had. Perhaps we’ll never know. He’s feeling much better now, so…nothing to worry about.

Monday morning was breakfast with my sisters before she & her fiance left to go back up to B’more. They were in the area because they got to go to the peanut festival in Plains and meet Jimmy Carter. We would have gone, but the trip to Atlanta last month put a damper on leisure travelling.

Yesterday was spent at my older sister’s house for scrapbooking. I didn’t get much scrapbooking done and neither did she. It’s hard to do much when there are three three-year-olds and three babies to be mothered. Someone always needed something. If I hadn’t of had to go back home to meet Corey’s bus, I wouldn’ve stayed longer and maybe gone sticker shopping, but I had to go. Jamie’s mom was super busy yesterday and wouldn’t have been able to help out.

I finally got my NFB stuff yesterday! I now have a good, leakproof hanging diaper pail. Also, I could wash my hair again because we now have some shampoo that smells super yummy. The conditioner was on backorder, but I still have a little sample left. The boys’ gifts also came in and the little doctor’s suitcase is so adorable!! I’m really looking forward to seeing the Kathe Kruse towel doll we got for Simon when it comes in.

We’re making progress in the underwear department of our lives. Aiden is finally getting better about putting his clothes back on after going potty. Of course, his refusal to wear underwear has been replaced with a new habit of saying, “I’m sorry,” randomly, about 50 times a day. He says it for no particular reason and will not stop saying it until I say, “It’s ok,” after which he’ll go on with business as usual.

I’m about ready to give up on our aquarium and start over with salt water or something. We have another ich outbreak. This, after cleaning out the aquarium completely, changing filters, and cycling the tank, fishless, for a month. So far, we have no casualties, but that may change as the day goes on. I treated the water and will have to do a 25% water change when I get home from choir tonight.

In career news, I have a tentative date on my calendar to premiere a song cycle for a good friend of mine. I’m going to be on the same program as a few other professionals in the area, and I’m actually getting paid to do it. I feel so…professional? Now all I have to do is get my hands on the music and start learning!

Can you believe it? I’ve been writing this entry for over an hour and now that I’m done, both boys are in bed and I don’t know what to do with myself.
