I wasn’t going to let myself blog until Outlook was all neat and tidy. I had over 200 survey emails that I needed to get rid of, as well as other various junk. I made this decision yesterday morning, but got bored half-way through my cleaning and tried to take a break. Shortly after I opened a tab for blogspot, IE froze and I lost the entry I started. I knew right then I wasn’t going to write anymore until today.
We accomplished A LOT this weekend. I willed myself to clean our shower on Sunday, which took me close to an hour and half a can of Comet (I hate hard water for this reason). It’s now bright and shiny and almost rust-stain-free. As long as I promise myself to clean it once a week, I may get rid of the stains down the road. I figure the stains will be harder to get rid of if they are covered in a thick coat of soap scum, thus rendering products like Lime-Away & CLR useless.
While I was cleaning the shower, Jamie was cleaning other various things around the house. At some point in this cleaning process, he even managed to clean out from under the microwave! The kitchen looks incredible right now and I really hope it stays that way.
Oh! And we finished our 500 Things Project. We reached number 500 somewhere in the cleaning-out of the Drawer o’ Seeds. There were so many packets of old flower seeds that I stopped counting (when we started the drawer, we were at 491).
Yesterday I organized my shirts in the closet by color and discovered that I really didn’t have all that many colors to organize. So I put the white shirts in order of sleeve length and just grouped the rest of the colors together the same way. I didn’t have enough colors for a rainbow effect.
Let’s see…what else did we do?
Oh yeah! We went to Target Saturday night and bought a load of plastic bins to organize the toys. Now everything has a “home” and cleanup is sooooo much easier. One box was too small for the Little People toys, though, so I’m going to put all my yarn in it when I feel so inclined.
I discovered–or rather–realized that I don’t have to do dropships every time I want to special order from the big HABA catalog. I would just have to expect the shipping to take a little longer. I need to remember to mention this in the next newsletter so people can go to the HABA website & pick out stuff for Christmas. The games they carry look like so much fun and they even carry cooperative games (everybody wins!). Down the road, I think I want to start buying the wooden food toys and let the boys set up a little store. I used to LOVE playing store when I was little and I bet if they had all the pieces & the cash register & stuff, they’d have so much fun.
The only thing I really have planned today is laundry & vacuuming. I’m playing with the idea of making some carrot bread since I checked out the How to Cook Everything book again…
Is it weird that I like to peel my children’s feet?
