Potty Training Update
Posted by: LizzieI’m writing this as the couscous is cooking for lunch. Sounds exotic, right? You wouldn’t believe how easy this recipe is. I just hope the boys actually eat it. I was looking for something to make with the cans of black beans in the pantry and came across “Simple Spiced Black Beans” in my Vegetarian Times cookbook. I’m not a fan of a lot of the recipes in there, but this one was so easy I had to try it. Plus I didn’t feel like making pb sammiches AGAIN.
I’ll post the recipe if it’s actually worth making again.
The potty training is going…well, it’s going. If I had a nickel for every time I said, “Put your underwear back on!” I would be able to buy myself a new powerbook in about a week. Ok, I haven’t actually done the math, but I would be slightly more wealthy. The novelty of underwear has created a nudist in my ds. He likes that he can remove them quickly, and this means he likes taking them off every ten minutes just so he can run to the potty and flush the toilet. More often than not, I’m too busy doing something to see if he is, indeed, peeing, but I like to give him the satisfaction of being a “big boy.” I’m a little worried that he’s jealous of the baby. He does it in play, but sometimes he’ll lie on the floor and wave his arms around while saying, “I’m the baby!” It’s cute, but then I have to remind him that no, he’s not the baby, he’s a big boy.
Man I’m hungry.
We stayed up late last night watching part of some thing on PBS about Antarctica. A team of explorers were diving under the ice and watching seals. It was cool. It looked like outerspace under the ice and the seals made neat sounds like laser guns. Before that, we watched the first episode of “Band of Brothers.” How is it that we have nothing but war movies/shows to watch right now. In our to-watch-later pile we have “A Very Long Engagement” and “Cold Mountain.” I also need to re-watch “Saving Private Ryan” because I never finished it a few weeks ago.
