I’m looking up travel packages to NEW YORK.

Cause. I got a letter from the competition people and they accepted my application materials!

Here’s the catch:

If I am invited to advance to the Semi-Finals, I will be contacted on March 28th or 29th. If I am not, I’ll get a letter a few days after that.

WAY TO MAKE ME GO INSANE, NEW YORK PEOPLE!

I’m pretty sure I would have to provide my own transportation for the semi-finals. Maybe not for the finals? If I even get that far?

I held my breath when I saw the letter because it was in the little SASE that I had to send with my application materials and it was so thin, like one page! And you know how you get when you see your own envelopes returned when you send stuff off to publishers and you don’t know if it’s a rejection or acceptance.

Even still, it’s not really a rejection or acceptance yet, just a “Hey, you look good on paper and now we’ll listen to your CD and get back with you in a month!”

So I feel like I shouldn’t talk about it too much or I’ll get myself all worked up only to be rejected.

And if I am accepted, we would have a week to make travel arrangements and that feels like not enough time! Jamie said he would go ahead and tentatively ask for that Saturday off. Man, that would be a busy weekend!

When is Easter this year?
