a long weekend!

Posted by: Lizzie

My weekend officially started Friday morning when I got to go get my haircut at my favorite salon. It’s about time, too because my hair was getting long enough to pull into pigtails and that’s pretty much all I was doing with it everyday.

For once, my stylist actually listened to what I wanted done with my hair and I have a haircut that I really like. I know I’ve liked several of my past haircuts, but this one I REALLY like. She kept the length in the front and stacked the back. Woo!

My mom was nice enough to watch the boys while I went in for my haircut so I treated her to Mexican food afterward. The lunch itself was rather awkward. My mother and I don’t talk everyday and we ate in silence for a grand part of the meal. Then she started talking about looking at a house in North Augusta and other random stuff.

Saturday was a slow day until Jamie got home from work. At that point, we all piled into the van and started our adventure into town.

Mission #1: Purchase new computer desk.
Mission #2: Eat dinner at Stevie B’s.
Mission #3: Purchase groceries and new outfits for picture-taking.
Mission #4: Go home & put together computer desk.

We accomplished all missions without too much trouble.

Sunday was picture day for us. After church, we ventured over to Sears for our portrait adventure. I’ll spare you the details and give you the highlights:

  • Aiden got extremely nervous and it took a lot of convincing for him to not hold his hands over his ears.
  • Corey was so tired of saying “Cheese” that he pretty much forgot how to smile. We had to tell him not to squint his eyes or make a dorky face.
  • Simon was tired of being there altogether so by the last take, he had a big frowny face.

After that fiasco, we went across the street to our favorite Chinese buffet where I got to eat crab legs and the boys got to ruin their new outfits.

Today, I’m sitting around in my pajamas, trying to process all the new NFB changes. I may decide to take a shower eventually, but I have a gigantic pile of laundry to wash. We’re eating dinner at Jamie’s mom’s house tonight, so I’ll actually get dressed sometime before 6:30. Just don’t know when.
