Man, just a few minutes ago, I witnessed the soothing effects of my Moby wrap. The baby was getting sleepy, but not quite crying or anything. Anyway, I laid him on the bed while I got the wrap ready and he was fussing around a little. Within three minutes of getting him in, he was asleep. I LOVE IT.

We’ve decided to get rid of 500 things this month. Yesterday, we went through the boys’ room to get rid of toys, dh cleaned out the fridge, we went through the bookshelf, closets, etc. I don’t know what number we’re on, but it’s over 200 (I think). I got the idea from the MDC forum. It feels good to purge the house of things we really don’t need. I’d love to get rid of all the cheap plastic toys in the boys’ room, but they’re not quite ready to part with some of them.

Tomorrow we’re going over to my sister’s house to do some scrapbooking & cooking out. It’s been since before the baby was born that I’ve done a page in my scrapbook. I really need to do his page. This means I need to gather the hospital bracelets and everything, snip a lock of his baby hair, & make sure all my scrapbook stuff is in one place. Thankfully, my mom got me a really nice Creative Memories rolling cart thing for my graduation present. I can put all my stuff in there instead of the random bags I was using before.

I’m reading a book right now that I’m really enjoying. It’s called Becoming the Parent You Want to Be by Laura Davis and Janis Keyser. It’s made me think about the way I’ve been doing things and ways that I could improve my parenting skills. Already I’ve noticed a difference in the way I’ve been dealing with the boys and it’s made a difference in how they are behaving toward me & each other.

The baby finally fits into the Kushies AIOs that we got as a gift. I love them! I wish we sold them through NFB, but they would have some stiff competition from Fuzzi Bunz (which are still my favorite). I need to get some Snappi fasteners soon. The baby’s outgrowing the small covers that we have & I think I may go ahead and make a couple wool covers afterall. Plus we have a pile of plastic pants that we may as well use with the piles of prefolds we already have. As much as I want to buy some proraps now, I should probably wait.

I’m also thinking of trying some cloth or wool nursing pads soon. I’m addicted to the Lansinoh ones and now that we’re finally disposable-free in terms of diapers, I should really free myself of the disposable nursing pads. Once things start getting “regular” for me again, I’m going to try the DivaCup.

In NFB news, I just sent out the July newsletter. Let me know if you didn’t get it or if you aren’t subscribed, let me know if you want to be. We’re about to launch a huge HABA clearance sale, so I’ll be sending out an addendum in the next day or two.

OH! I almost forgot: the baby started laughing yesterday! He only did it once yesterday, but this morning while I was in the shower, dh told me he was doing a beatbox & making him laugh & laugh. So cute!

I always used plastic pants- ‘rubber pants’ as I so call them. No leaking, great fit, affordable, and easy!
