mom stuff
Posted by: LizzieI went to my first LLL meeting this morning. It was fun! I mean, we didn’t do anything really special or make it too business-like, but the kids got to play with other kids and I got to hang out with some like-minded moms. I was really excited that there were people in the area who use cloth diapers (sometimes I feel so alone!) and wear their babies. Plus, I got to see a girl I haven’t seen since her baby was tiny. The baby is now almost two. There was also a girl there who knows my sister from the Mothers of Multiples group.
Next Wednesday I’m going to an Attachment Parenting International meeting. I’m looking forward to all these mom groups because they give me a chance to get out of the house and the kids get to play with others.
Yesterday’s eye appointment went pretty well. When we got there, the baby was fussing to be nursed, so I had to feed him while I filled out paperwork. When he was done, I put him in the sling and he fell asleep by the time we had to go back to the room. The doctor pretty much guaranteed that ds2 will need glasses, but we had to make an appointment for a few weeks from now. Apparently, Medicaid won’t cover a refraction (pupil dilation) in the first visit. It sounds so stupid, but if they want to pay for more than one visit, whatever. It’ll be easier to come another day anyway because I can probably get someone to watch the other boys.
We all managed to nap this afternoon until about 3:30. I decided to let ds1 lay in the bed with me, which made it easier for me to make sure he actually slept. I hope we can nap again tomorrow.
I think that a lady from church is interested in creating a gift registry with me. When my catalogs (finally) come in, I need to remember to bring one to church so she can make a list of everything she wants. Now I just need to find some more people! The business is slow-going so far.
We skipped the London broil last night because I didn’t realize how long it would take to cook. So dh made bbq chicken instead. We had to use the inside grill because it was raining so hard, but it still tasted good. I guess I should get up from the computer and get started on dinner.
