My Aiden
Posted by: Lizzie(Last year’s birthday cake–WAY too expensive! But delicious)
The school year is close to being over, but Aiden is still struggling emotionally with Kindergarten. It was hard at the beginning of the year because it had been over a year since he’d been in Montessori. Though he was excited, it was still hard for him to be away from home for too long.
Since he returned to school after the holidays, his teachers let me know that he started crying again at nap time. They ask him why he’s crying and he simply says, “Because I miss my mommy and want to go home.”
It breaks my heart and melts it into a big puddle of goo.
And the pictures. Oh, the pictures that he draws for me. Before Kindergarten, it was a struggle getting him to sit down to color. I think it was because he was still getting used to his glasses and combining that with the fine motor skills needed to maneuver a pencil or crayon around. Now he draws these fantastic animals and LOVES drawing himself in almost every piece.
He brings me a drawing or card that says “I love you mommy” almost every day.
I do believe that Aiden is the biggest mama’s boy out of all three of my guys. And that’s ok by me.
