Weekend getaway
Posted by: LizzieMy weekend getaway with my sister and our friend was a whole lot of fun! We sat around in our pj’s, scrapbooked, I knitted a little, we watched tv, and just hung out. It was nice to be somewhere where the phone wasn’t interrupting or there wasn’t children’s television in the background.
Simon had a great time, too, and I learned how to nurse him while he was in the carseat (a handy trick for when there was literally no where to stop).
The boys missed me tremendously, as I gathered from the way Corey would not leave my lap as soon as I got home. While I was gone, Jamie organized my craft corner and did a little rearranging of the boys’ room! I can actually find things I need now. SO GREAT!
I really don’t have much else that I want to write about. I’m still looking up homeschooling stuff and we’ve started to talk about it with Corey in order to guage his interest. He seems to be ok with the idea of it, as long as I don’t use the word “learning” or “teaching.” I think that deschooling will be an interesting process, but I think that it’s going to be good for everyone.
Corey came across a little mother’s day book that he made for me when he was in kindergarten:
“Happy Mother’s Day
I love you Mother
I had fun today
love Corey
I love you Mother
I had fun at centers today
but I dident stay on green today”
If that wasn’t reason enough to take him out of school, I don’t know what is. It just breaks my heart.
