a new week

Posted by: Lizzie

If I feel like it, I’m going to take pictures of all the FO’s from the past couple weeks. It would seem as though I’ve been knitting more than usual, but really I’ve just been knitting things that don’t take very long to make. I’m taking a break from shorties because I’m not enjoying the 12″ circular I’m using. It’s one that came in the $3 box of circs that I got from that estate sale last year. If I had an extra $15 (and a good excuse to drive all the way into town), I’d go ahead and buy myself an Addi. Maybe next month.

At the Goodwill Friday, I scored a HUGE crocheted afghan. What, praytell, am I planning to do with it? I liked the colors so much that I bought it to harvest the yarn. HA! I unravelled one of the panels on Saturday and ended up with a ball the size of Simon’s head. There are at least six more panels to go. What glorious bounty! How’s that for sustainable living? I still don’t know what I’m going to do with all that yarn, but I couldn’t resist getting a couple pounds of vintage yellow & brown for $4.50.

In non-knitting plans, I have to call the dealership today and make an appointment. The A/C in the van is still not working, so I just need to take it in. We bought an extended warranty thinger with the van, and it should cover whatever is wrong (CROSSING FINGERS….NOW). The only thing we really need to work out is how long it’ll take to fix and what we’re going to do with the kids if it takes all day. I don’t particularly enjoy bringing them to the dealership for more than an hour. The general mood in there is usually negative since everyone is so impatient as they wait for their oil changes and whatnot. It makes me & the kids rather uncomfortable and then they get cranky.

There are several things we have to do during the next two weeks and my head is spinning!

Things on the agenda:

1. Send out evites for Simon’s birthday party
2. Send out evites for May Day/Cinqo de Mayo party
3. Call Speech therapist
4. Look up info on starting a homeschool music program
5. Start knitting circle
6. CLEAN THE HOUSE!

    2 things………

    1. If you car dealership is anywhere near me let me know and I will come and get you and bring you back to our house until your van is done.

    2. If you start a homeschool music group I want to know, I would love to have you teach Kyle singing. Have you checked out the Diamond Lakes homeschool group?
