Read-a-thon Check-in #3

Posted by: Lizzie

Ugh! My pinky finger is trigger-happy and I keep posting blanks.

Title of book(s) read this hour: The Mermaid Chair
Number of books read since you started: 1, plus one short story read to Corey
Pages read: 22
Running total of pages read since you started: 71
Amount of time spent reading: 45 min
Running total of time spent reading since you started: 1 hr 55 min
Mini-challenge this hour: I tried to think of quotes for the mini-challenge, but my mind was blank. Maybe next time!
Prize you’ve won: Big Box o’ Books!

Notes for this update: My children have abandoned me for the television in my bedroom. I thought that Corey would be more into it and he did spent a LOT of time reading with me. Alas, we all need breaks and I think that I’m going to have to do most of this Read-a-thon alone (unless my husband joins me when the kids are asleep!).

Also, I’m hosting a crop at my house tonight, so a lot of my reading time will be given over to that. But I’ll get back to reading once I no longer have company!

I used to have read-a-thons when I taught 5th grade. I planned for about 45% reading 55% activities and breaks. That worked very well, and the kids really did read during reading times.

When you’re done reading, come by my blog to sign up for to win a free book of your choice.
