So much work, so little time.

Not really. My mother came over around 10:00 so she could ride with us to the eye doctor, who then referred us to a pediatric eye doctor. I should have asked over the phone whether or not he saw children, but I guess I just didn’t think about it at the time. When I actually made the phone call, it was the only few minutes in the day I didn’t have my hands full; I was lucky to even be able to pick up the phone and have a conversation in complete silence.

As it turns out, the pediatric eye doctor is booked up for the next two weeks, so I’ll have to make an appointment for afterward. Joy!

So we got to come home a little earlier than I planned, which meant I could go rehearse for the wedding this weekend. It also meant I got behind on some housework, but I managed to make up for it earlier this evening. I didn’t scrub the sink like I wanted, though. I’ll try to do that tomorrow. I did, however, manage to do laundry. Despite the overwhelming piles of hand-me-downs we got from my sister, the baby needs his clothes changed quite frequently. He is one heck of a spitter.

I took apart the skirt I made. I realized it was such a sheer fabric and I wasn’t sure how to finish the seams. So after a load of research, I decided to redo the whole thing with French seams to keep them from unravelling. Ultimately, the skirt will look much better, and the fact that it won’t fall apart when I wash it is an added bonus. Thankfully, I hadn’t spent all that much time making it. I’m going to be much happier when I finally finish the dang thing.

Tomorrow, we venture out and to the Health Department for my WIC appointment. I’m scared to go by myself (well, me v. The Boys), but the Health Department is two miles away. So if the baby gets upset, we’re not doomed. He actually did well on the way to the eye doctor this morning. On the way back, however, my mom had to hunt for the Car Pacifier about five times because he kept spitting it out.

The baby was pretty fussy about an hour ago. I though it was gas, but he was way overtired. I started singing to him and it was like he instantly went to sleep. I guess he missed my singing–I was practicing for my recital and singing in church right up to the day before he was born. Duh.

I need to get motivated to clean the shower. Someone motivate me. PLEASE.
