Swap & Stuff
Posted by: LizzieA (rare) quiet moment. I love it when Simon colors because he’s so “into” it, sprawled out on the floor, going to town with a crayon and paper. He gets up when he’s done and asks me, “Pitty?”
Yes, dear, your drawings are the “pittiest” I’ve ever seen.
One day, I’m going to figure out what to do with all the child art I have stuffed into folders and drawers around my house. There’s only so much that can fit on a bulletin board and all of the available space on the fridge.
I’m behind on blogging this week. Last week found me preparing for May Day, which went swimmingly, and I got knocked head over feet with a cold come Sunday afternoon. I begged the Urgent Care doctor for a good decongestant on Monday and I feel relatively normal today. I know it’s bad “natural living” to go to the doctor for drugs. I’ll be stronger next time, I promise. Or maybe I can plan my sickness around one of Jamie’s days off and I won’t have to worry about keeping up with three monsters while blowing baby aliens into an entire box of tissues.
Enough about me: more about what I’ve been working on! I can’t post pictures because it’ll ruin the surprise for my swap partner, so I’ll describe in mysterious detail what I’ve been doing. After a lot of thought, I decided to alter a pattern that my mother used a lot when I was little. My best friend growing up was made from this pattern! I’m changing it up just a little and I am really happy with the way it’s turning out so far. Last night I cut out all the pieces and got to work on the head.
It’s my first time really working with felt! Sure I’ve done random tiny projects here and there, but I’ve never made a plushie. Oh, that’s such a vague hint. It’s not entirely felt! Haha!
I hope everyone is having a good Wednesday!
