I’m a Volunteer!

I was so moved by the FeelGood project that I had to go sign up to be a volunteer for Warming Families.  I’m now an official Chapter Area Volunteer!  I’ll be distributing blankets and other warm items to a local shelter.

On this craft blog, I’ll try to update you with the donations I’ve received, the things I’ve knitted for the project, and recognize important milestones in this journey.  If you’d like to contribute to the Warming Families project, visit their website.  They are still looking for Chapter Area Volunteers.

FeelGood with Lands’ End

I love this idea:  for every Lands’ End FeelGood sweater purchased, the company will donate FeelGood yarn to One Heart Foundation’s Warming Families, a nationwide knitting charity. The yarn will be distributed so that we as a community can knit hats for the homeless or displaced. Lands’ End expects to donate thousands of pounds of yarn for Warming Families volunteers to knit up to 25,000 hats for the men, women and children across the country who need them most.

You can also knit a hat for the project! Go to the website to download two hat patterns and donate them to participating volunteer groups in your area.

Upcoming FeelGood Twitter Party

Join Lands’ End and Vickie Howell, host of TV’s Knitty Gritty, for a Twitter Party to celebrate the kick-off the FeelGood Campaign! The party will feature more than 20 fun giveaways ranging from the FeelGood sweater and Vickie Howell’s books to Lands’ End gift cards and FeelGood yarn.

Lands’ End FeelGood Twitter Party
Date: Wednesday, September 16th
Time: 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. CST

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!

Posted by: Lizzie

As I’ve been bed-ridden and had nothing much else to do this week, I’ve made a few changes around here.  If you’ll take a look up there in the navigation bar, I’ve added a “Shop” link.  Click on that and you’ll be taken to a little corner of my blog where I’ll be posting some most delicious eye-candy.  Basically, anything that I would buy for myself or my kids, I’ll be posting there.  I made a promise to myself not to over-post in that area so’s I won’t clog up yer readers.  Of course, if you want me to post more, I will.  Just tell me!

Look over on my sidebar and you’ll see an odd looking thermometer.  That there is my Make-A-Wish donation goal and if you feel so inclined, click to make a donation!  If you’d like to hear more about my partnership with Make-A-Wish through Creative Memories, let me know and I’ll shoot you an email.  You can also take a look at the Wishes and Dreams scrapbooking products that support the Make-A-Wish Foundation, too.

I’m pretty sure that’s all.  As always, if you have any questions about me or my site, I have a handy contact form in my navigation bar that you can fill out.

Happy Thursday everyone!
