Oi. Is it Monday already? I guess it is, since yesterday when Jamie woke me up for church, I had to ask,
“What day is it?”
So let’s see. What did I not do this weekend…
First of all, I did not go to yoga Friday night for the first time in months. And while I wasn’t there, I did not realize that I still had enough core strength to hold myself in plank pose without wanting to die.
On Saturday, Jamie and I did not get to go to a party WITHOUT KIDS! We didn’t get to enjoy the company of other adults, eat delicious food, and help celebrate our dear friend’s 30th birthday and promotion to Major.
Later that night, I certainly did not make an amazing salad with another dear friend. And after we did not eat our amazing salads, we didn’t get to scrapbook until one in the morning while Jamie and his best friend sat around watching internet videos and flapping their yaps.
Yesterday, I did not get to take a four hour nap after getting home from church.
And today, I am so not feeling some soreness from all that yoga I didn’t do on Friday.
Nope, not me!
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
I had this fabulous idea a few weeks ago to schedule regular crops on Saturdays so that everyone I know could come over and work on their albums. I know it’ll be a while before I have guests who show up predictably, but it’s still disappointing when no one at all shows up. Regardless, I was all set to go on Saturday. Jamie even went so far as to schedule an appointment at the car shop so we could get the van brakes checked and the tires done. He took Simon and Timothy with him because they are the neediest and I cannot do any scrapbooking done if I am constantly having to fish bits of paper out of Timothy’s cheeks or get snacks and drinks for Simon. You know the drill.
The house was all quiet, Corey and Aiden had actually finished cleaning their room and were enjoying video game time, and I was just waiting for any guests to arrive.
- I did not sit around and wait for guests who never showed
- I did not play Uru instead
- I did not spend the entire morning and afternoon trying to find and fix a virus on Jamie’s laptop
- I did not fix it and then have Jamie discover that there was still a virus
- I did not feel disappointed and hurt that I failed to fix the laptop
- I did not feel rejected and lonely when no one came to crop with me
- I did not feel surprise when Jamie said the van brakes had to be completely replaced
And then yesterday! Yesterday!
- I did not wear one of the only skirts that fits for the eleventy-billionth time in a row
- I did not get home from church and spend the entire afternoon working on the virus problem
- I did not miss my nap because of said virus problem
- I did not watch one of the worst horror movies on the face of the earth
You know what’s great, though?
I did not get bitten by Timothy and develop a sore so painful that I could karate chop Jamie in the face if he even THINKS of going near that general area of my body. Nope.
Not me.
So this weekend:
- I did not have to take apart the laptop and dry it off
- I did not pop off the letter J in the process and lose the part that sticks it back on
- I did not go to Best Buy and have them tell me I’m better off buying a new laptop
- I did not drive all over town looking for the best deal on a new laptop
- I did not end up back at Office Depot where I started
- I did not have to buy a new laptop!!
(oh yes I did. and it’s not a Toshiba. it’s a superdelicious HP that was cheaper than I could have possibly imagined)
