AboutOne has me itching for annual family newsletters

Posted by: Lizzie

So I signed up to review this new web service called AboutOne.com.  It’s one of those online productivity tools for moms and “home managers” that allows us to input all of our family information into one place so it’s easily accessible.  We can include medical info, scan in photos or our kids’ artwork, or just write little notes about what happened one day.  I’d say it’s like an online scrapbook/home organizer in one.   Read more…

Alright.  If you’re a guy or don’t feel like reading about my personal care, I suggest moving on.  Otherwise, keep reading.  I’m about to get honest up in here.  And it involves bladder problems…

Ultimate Cloth is Ultimately Amazing

Posted by: Lizzie

I have this problem.  I like to make sure I “green my routine” and only get the green cleaners, etc., use cloths instead of paper towels, and I have every good intention of actually cleaning.  When it comes down to it, though, if I need to clean something in a jiffy and I’m lugging around twenty pounds of baby, I don’t really want to be spraying anything at all, even if it is as harmless as vinegar and water.

I’ll admit I was skeptical when I received an Ultimate Cloth.  It says you can use it without any chemicals–just wet it, wring it, and wipe down your surface.  Sounds too good to be true!

But it works.

I used it to clean the crayon off of our kitchen mirrors.  You know how hard it is to clean off crayon?   While I could use a magic eraser, I have no idea what actually goes in one of those, and I don’t consider those to be eco-friendly because you end up tossing them when they get worn out.

After cleaning that mirror, I ran through the house wiping off things like the oven door, my television screen, the glass doors on the TV cabinet, and even the fireplace.  Then, I washed it, and went out to the van to clean off my windshield.  I’d been meaning to clean the inside of the windshield for MONTHS.  It had this spot on it where Jamie sneezed and tried to wipe it with his sleeve.  I told him that he was going to have to clean my windshield since he made it gross, but  I let him slide on this one since the Ultimate Cloth cleaned both the inside and outside of the windshield.

How does it work?

UCMiraFiber

MiraFiber™ Technology has open spaces between fibers that act as millions of tiny ‘scoops’ that pull dust, dirt, oil & other contaminants into the cloth and hold them until washed away with mild soap or detergent. (Can also be bleached for disinfection.)

I highly recommend the Ultimate Cloth!  They can be purchased through the Ultimate Cloth website starting at $6.00 and shipping is free until 2010.

You can get a free Ultimate Cloth for shipping and handling by going to: http://www.ultimateclothamerica.com/free.html

Mom Select - Bringing Companies and Moms Together

Oh my word, it’s almost Fall.  Or what we like to refer to around here as that random week in the year when the leaves change, fall to the ground, and then all the plants are dead for the season!  Now that the boys are back in school, I’m sure they’ll be bringing home all kinds of nasty germs.  Aiden reminds me daily that germs like to hide in the toilet and on our teeth.  I don’t suppose they’ve covered the “in your nose” locations in his classroom, but they will soon; once all the Kindergartners are running around with their noses dripping and sneezing on every touchable surface within their radii. If it wasn’t for the WIC program, we would probably go broke buying cereal for our children.  They could eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks!  That’s why I signed up to try out some of the new Honey Kix from My Blog Spark.  (If you haven’t noticed, I love trying new things!) Read more…
