Cute Turtle outfit!

I may snatch up this cute set for next Spring. Timothy will need something with turtles on it and it’s only $10 at The Childrens Wear Outlet.

over and gone

I can’t believe that Spring Break is over already. We all had an enjoyable time of it though.

Friday was our 8th wedding anniversary and we took a trip to Atlanta to visit the Georgia Aquarium. It was just me & Jamie & Simon. The Aquarium was so cool! I was thankful we didn’t bring a stroller because before every exhibit, there was a little “Stroller Parking” area and it would have been a holy pain-in-the-ass to have to keep getting Simon in and out of the stroller. I opted for my Moby and toted him around on my back almost the whole time.

Toward the end of our visit, Simon got tired, though, and I had to bring him around to the front so he could nurse a little.

So about the Aquarium:

Whale Sharks are HUGE!!! There’s one part of the aquarium where you walk through this tunnel where you’re under the water and you look up and all the fish are swimming over your head. And then all of a sudden there are gigantic sharks the size of cars swimming over your head. It’s so surreal.

Jamie said the beluga whales are funny because they have tiny dolphin heads but big whale bodies.

We also got to see a leatherback sea turtle real close up and I just about died with glee. It was also the only thing I took pictures of.

Tonight I’m making ribs for dinner. Thsese are ribs that came in our angel food package this month, so I can’t let them go to waste! I have never ever made ribs before so I hope they are not terrible. I’m cooking them in the crockpot I got at the Goodwill ($6!). I smothered them with my famous homemade bbq sauce. Delish!

new futon

Posted by: Lizzie

Our new futon arrived last week. I put it together myself!

The boys have been doing their part to break it in, so to speak.

The new futon is now blessed with chocolate pudding and dirt from their shoes. The boys like to climb out of bed in the middle of the night to go sleep on it, but that is now going to stop. Why? Because one of them peed on it.

I knew it was a risk getting new furniture while the boys are still young, but I really didn’t expect any of them to pee on said new furniture.

Whatever, though. I cleaned it the best I could with water and I rubbed some borax on the spot.

I keep thinking that I have plans today, but I can’t for the life of me remember what they are. Maybe I don’t have plans. I know that I have plans for every day this week. Tuesday is LLL and then Tamara’s house. I have to help her go through some clothes for the Mothers of Multiples yard sale. Wednesday is church night, Thursday evening I have a CM unit meeting, and Friday is something can’t remember off the top of my head. Saturday is a baby shower in the afternoon and a wedding at night (two unrelated events). March is freaking busy, man!

Remember the new turtle I saw? Well…Jamie spotted ANOTHER even SMALLER baby turtle! Here’s my theory: one of my turtles mated with the turtle that was already in there. The other turtle is small, which means it’s most likely a male. You get the picture. Now Two Turtle Pond is home to four turtles. Jamie is looking forward to catching one of the giant catfish in our pond. It’s funny because every time we go down there to throw bread crumbs to the turtles, one of the catfish lolls up to pick on the turtle and eat the bread. Mean old catfish. WE WILL EAT YOU FOR DINNER. Seriously. Fresh catfish is freaking delicious. It helps to have a nice, fresh, spring-fed pond to raise them in. Those catfish are so stupid, though, that it won’t be much work to catch them.

Enough about fishing.

My plans this morning are to go to the post office (I remembered). I have to mail the custom bunny hat and a book for paperbackswap. This’ll be my first mailing for that, and I had forgotten I even signed up for it. Bookmooch was more exciting a prospect.

Tonight, we’re eating dinner with Jamie’s mom: lasagne!

a friendly hello

Posted by: Lizzie

Yesterday, I went down to the pond to see if I could take a picture of the four ducks that took up residence last week. I want to know what kind they are! When I got down there, though, I scared them away.

I had Corey go get some stale bread from the kitchen so we could feed the fish, when a familiar face came to say hello! I saw both Bubba and Butch out in the middle when I got there, but only Butch comes around to snack on the bread that we toss out for them. I’m glad that they’re still alive and well in (what we just named) Two Turtle Pond.

Of course, now that we named it Two Turtle Pond, there are three turtles in there! I spied a baby turtle in the distance before we went inside. I think it’s the one I rescued from the side of our road four years ago. I tried to wait around for it to show up so I could get its picture, but it was too shy and Simon was really tired of standing there.

All this pond business made me have dreams about our pond last night. In my dream, Aiden decided that he wanted to go for a swim in the pond. So he did! I’m sure there was more to it, but I really can’t remember anymore. Wow, that was a lot more boring than I meant it to be.

Today, we’re taking it easy. I’m trying to catch up on laundry, which is getting easier now that I’ve enlisted Corey’s help with putting away things like towels and (GASP!) his OWN CLOTHES! He whines and complains the whole time, but I’ve had to learn to ignore it. I seriously cannot wash, fold, and put away clothes for five people. I mean, I can. But I don’t want to.

I discovered last night that in the evenings, I need to just sit on the floor and let Simon have free access to me. He wants to play, but within no more than a 2-foot radius of my lap. That way, every five seconds he can touch me and make sure I’m still there. This also makes it easier for his two hour Cluster-Nursing Marathon. He’s starting to care less about where he is when he’s nursing. As an example, I nursed him through half of Corey’s play the other night. And it was LOUD in there. This only applies to evening nursies, though. During the day, he likes to pop on and off if there are interesting people in the room.

I think I have to thaw out some salmon for dinner. Last night’s Shepherd’s Pie was delicious, by the way. Jamie says it’s one of his favorite things that I make. Even though I just had a quesadilla about 30 minutes ago, I think I’ll have some leftovers for an afternoon snack.

Why do I still eat like I’m pregnant?
