this is the week

Dudes! My house is (mostly) clean! It was a freakin’ wreck after the weekend, but we’ve been kicking butt since Easter afternoon. Yesterday I vacuumed our bedroom! Holy freakin crap!

Corey got upset today because I introduced a fairly new concept in math and he didn’t do as well on his timed problems as he’s done in the past. He’s getting better at not throwing a complete fit, but I can totally relate to his getting overly frustrated when he doesn’t get something “right” or do it “perfectly” the first time. The goal for his fact sheets is to complete 15 problems in 45 seconds. He only completed 11, but like I said, they were new facts and 10 is considered “satisfactory.” When we were correcting his work, one of his answers was wrong and he almost burst into tears. He’s never missed a problem on his fact sheets before.

What a stressful day for him!

In the meantime, he read an entire Magic Tree House book this morning and started another one. Silly boy.

What have I been up to? Well….I’m almost done with my quilt top, I finished a pair of custom longies, started back to work on my socks, and I even mopped the kitchen today!

Writing it all down makes me feel like I’ve been super-productive, which I have been, but there’s a looming mess in our master bathroom that I’m putting off until next week. No real reason except that I just wanted to get our bedroom clean most of all and until that’s done, I’m not really going to put a lot of sweat into the rest of the house. I’m taking the Flylady (gasp!) approach to some stuff in that I set my timer for 15 minutes and attacked the computer room. Now. It’s not perfect in there or anything, but at least you can walk across the room without stepping on anything.

I can’t even begin to describe how nervous I am about this weekend. So. I’ll leave you with a picture of my sweet Gwennie. I don’t usually post pictures of her cause she’s always hiding under the bed during the day. The past few months, she’s been a lot more outgoing and she’s finally sleeping in the little kitty cave that my mom gave us.
