Random Family Stuff
Posted by: LizzieToday is Tuesday and I am going to see my sister who is visiting from Baltimore! Yay! I’ll be leaving shortly after I write this so I can head on to my older sister’s house where the reunion will take place.
Corey finished his Harry Potter book on Sunday and started James and the Giant Peach. He’s already a quarter of the way through it and has lined up two more books to read after he’s done. I am so freaking proud of him I can’t stand it! I also took out the Shel Silverstein book for him to read yesterday. He really enjoyed my favorite poem, “If the World Was [were? I can't remember] Crazy,” and he read “Dancing Pants” to himself.
Flipping through the book brought back memories of Fifth Grade when I had to memorize “Sarah Cynthia Silvia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out.” Those were good times.
At the grocery store the other night, I tried to teach Corey French numbers and he was doing really well. He kept Southernizing one of the numbers and now I can’t remember which one. When we were home, he kept asking me what different things were in French so I had to get out the dictionary. I have a feeling we’ll be starting French early when we start homeschooling.
What’s Aiden doing these days? Being wierd. He likes to talk in funny voices, climb stuff, and tackle Corey. That sums him up.
Simon’s into eating paper, crawling around, and pulling up on furniture. He’s working on his last top molar, so that’s been fun. The only real indication that he gives me when he’s teething is the massive amount of drool and his notorious “mmmmm” whine. That, and he chews on furniture. Oh yeah. He also likes to pull up on tables and pull everything off of the table. Who used to do that when he was a baby? COREY! Or pretty much any baby. So I guess he’s really into gravity.
Well, Aiden is turning off the tv and telling me it’s time to go. I need to put pants on Simon, so I’ll close this entry.
Tonight–dinner with the MIL.
