Women’s Clothing Month!

Posted by: Lizzie

Yay! May is Women’s Clothing Month at Sew, Mama, Sew! I am hoping to have time to participate. Last summer I tried desperately to make a couple new tops for myself, but failed miserably. I have those half-finished wads of fabric stuffed into random corners of my sewing room. With luck, I may be able to salvage some of it and create something wearable.

Lots of luck!

In any event, I am getting my rear in gear this month with all of my crafts. February and March found me in somewhat of a slump. I haven’t given up on the quilt, but with Simon turning two, it’s rare that I can sit down for extended periods of time, let alone with a needle in hand. He’s quite the monkey and I’d rather not run the risk of poking him with a sharp thing while he’s practicing his acrobatics.

I’m still working on a couple of crochet projects and I even started a little sweater for my childhood best friend’s baby girl due soon.

But this week, I must help Jamie clean the house to prepare for our annual May Day Party! He’s been working really hard while I adjust to some new medications. I hope to be back to my old/new self again by tomorrow so I can do some cooking for this party. My awesome knitting/cooking buddy is coming over tonight to help me finalize the menu. I have in mind a homemade salsa and perhaps a bean dip. My cabinet is always overflowing with several varieties of beans so we’ll see what we can come up with. I also want to attempt some marinated olives. Yumyumyum.

Well. I should get back to the Laundry Monster in my living room. It’s taking over and I fear this house will never look decent if I don’t suck it up and fold.

Happy May Day everyone!
